Afin de pr\u00e9venir tout accident \u00e0 l\u2019encontre des passants, souvent touristes, les propri\u00e9taires sont dans l\u2019obligation de d\u00e9neiger leurs toits. Ils font alors appel aux Tombeurs de neige. \u00c9quip\u00e9s de cordes, de pelles et de masses au long manche, les d\u00e9neigeurs arpentent les toits du quartier. De toit en toit, une route se dessine. Leur territoire.\r\n\r\n\u00c9prouver une m\u00e9thode. Empruntant \u00e0 l\u2019anthropologie l\u2019observation participante, je me suis jumel\u00e9 aux \u00e9quipes de d\u00e9neigeurs (Entretien Vieux Qu\u00e9bec et Escouade des neiges) durant les hivers 2007 et 2008, travaillant et photographiant \u00e0 leur c\u00f4t\u00e9.\r\n\r\nEt c\u2019est naturellement par une invitation \u00e0 la promenade que les Tombeurs de neige nous offrent une alternative \u00e0 l\u2019imaginaire collectif d\u2019un lieu touristique maintes fois visit\u00e9, maintes fois photographi\u00e9, le vertige en toile de fond.\r\n\r\nCette exposition est l\u2019occasion d\u2019une tribune. Une mise en garde quant aux d\u00e9rives engendr\u00e9es par l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat touristique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard d\u2019un lieu. Longtemps sacrifi\u00e9 au tout tourisme, Qu\u00e9bec <em>intra muros <\/em>est aujourd\u2019hui un patrimoine menac\u00e9 dans son int\u00e9grit\u00e9. L\u2019image dune ville fortifi\u00e9e quatre fois centenaire est vendeuse. Devenue objet de commercialisation et laiss\u00e9 aux mains des frasques du march\u00e9 de l\u2019immobilier, le quartier s\u2019est lentement vid\u00e9 de ses habitants.\r\n\r\nUn quartier pour exister se doit d\u2019\u00eatre un espace v\u00e9cu et non travesti. Exister autrement au-del\u00e0 de ses murs. Malgr\u00e9 le soubresaut de quelques habitants par la mise en place d\u2019un conseil de quartier, le Vieux colle encore dangereusement au syndrome de la coquille vide.\r\n\r\nEmmanuel
